Dubai

Though an Arab-Islamic country, you will find the UAE to have one of the most liberal societies among all the other Arab nations. You will find people from all over the Arab world, Asia, Europe, Africa and the America all converging here. The Population of the United Arab Emirates estimates to be around 2.8 million. The official religion of the United Arab Emirates is Islam. But other faiths are tolerated and freedom of worship privately is given. Churches are common in some emirates and in Dubai you will even find a Hindu Temple.

Currency

The local unit of currency in the U.A.E. is the Dirham (one dirham = 100 fils) and is on parity with the US dollar. Most foreign currencies may be exchanged at the reception desk.

Electricity

The power supply in Dubai operates at 220 volts; adaptors are available - converters are not.

Time zone

Dubai standard time is four hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Team (GMT+4)

Weather

The climate is sub-tropical, with sunny blue skies and high temperatures for most of the year. Rainfall is minimal.

Visa

No Visa required for British passport holders.
